ABU WINS 1500M WOMEN’S GOLD

IMG 4494Ghana’s starlet Agnes Abu added to Ghana’s medal haul at the ongoing Economic Community of West Africa Games (ECOWAS) Games by winning gold in the 1500m women’s on Tuesday at the El-Wak Stadium.

Abu raised aloft the flag of Ghana in the race which saw Nigeria finish in second and third place.Read More     She finished at 4:42:32 ahead of Shimnenge Agber and Aminat Olawora who ended the race at 4:42:34 and 4:44:81 respectively.

Ghanaian hopeful Lydia Atta Afia Mato, winner of the 2011 Milo Marathon (women’s event) settled for fourth at 4:46:49s.

In the Javelin event, Atsu Nyamadi won silver behind Nigerian Isfa Ferdinand, who won gold. Senegalese Diedhiou Sadibou won bronze.
